From April 23 to 24, WG1 members of ESFLU organized a meeting at the headquarters of Istituto Zooprofilattico Sperimentale della Lombardia e Dell’Emilia Romagna (IZSLER) in Brescia. The meeting focused on finalizing the compilation of laboratory SOPs from partner laboratories for swine influenza A virus (IAV-S) diagnostics and the planning of evaluation of these protocols. In addition to that, pitfalls in swine flu diagnostics and ideas for the next training school of WG1 were discussed and will be illustrated within talks during the Annual Scientific and Networking Meeting in Thessaloniki. The outcomes of the meeting will be also disseminated by publication of shared guidelines on swine flu diagnostics.
