The First Biosecurity Conference, held on June 5–6 in Barcelona, brought together over 180 participants to discuss key biosecurity challenges and advancements in animal health (https://project-better.bocemtium.com/).
The Working Group Subgroup 3.5 – Establish guidelines for optimized management and control of swIAV in pig herds from theESFLU COST Action actively participated in the event.
Alessia Russini and Miroslav Kjosevski used the opportunity to promote a new expert survey aimed at identifying critical on-farm biosecurity measures for preventing swine influenza. Alessia also engaged with several experts at the conference to gather direct input through the survey.Additionally, Paula Rebollo Igual presented a poster titled “Review of biosecurity measures in pig farms for control and prevention of Swine Influenza,” co-authored with Han Smits and Miroslav Kjosevski. The poster showcased findings from a study conducted within Subgroup 3.5, highlighting current practices and potential improvements in swine influenza prevention.
